I thought that setup sounded like poop when I heard it.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
For the money, the Klipsch promedia sounds way better, but I would check on the amp to see if they have fixed the design yet
Thats cause Klipsch uses a horn tweeter. Finding a brand new promedia ultra 5.1 is going to be hard. But like ya, for me I had Klipsch promedia 4.1 before, it sounded good but the subwoofer wasn't loud enough. The logitech may sound boomier than the Klipsch, but its way louder than it lol. Logitech speakers are also made by Tang Band. Oh yeah for 500 bucks I would check into Onkyo HTIB.

I can get you the dayton 5.1 system with 12" powered subwoofer for $185.00 brand new. I am a dayton dealer, it's a good system for what you want to do. I do have some references.

never heard of dayton before... are they pretty good?

Naw, nothing yet.

Did you seriously think you were going to get "Best" surround sound reciever, DVD, 5 speakers and a sub for $200-$250?

You said "speakers".

Do you have a stereo now?

You don't have a DVD player? They are like $70.

If your that tight for cash, I suggest a basic $70-$99 DVD player, a $100 stereo reciever and decent pair of 2 way speakers with a 10" or 12 " woofer and a tweeter. $300 for the pair, plus some cheap speaker cable (or "Zip/lamp cord") from home depot.

You can always upgrade to "surround" sound later just by adding 3 more decent speakers. Good sound from two decent speaker would be better than bad surround sound from a crappy system.
