I can get you the dayton 5.1 system with 12" powered subwoofer for $185.00 brand new. I am a dayton dealer, it's a good system for what you want to do. I do have some references.

Good bang for the buck and sounds pretty decent for a simulated surround 3.1 system and u don't have to worry about runing wires all over either.
