Best sub/s at 400WRMS?

Recently got into car audio so started with a **** setup to learn, only using a Kenwood KFC-W1012 12inch Subwoofer in a 1cuft sealed box atm and I'm looking to upgrade it. The amp I have runs 400WRMS at 2 ohms and 300WRMS at 4 ohms. Currently looking at twin kicker 12" comps in a ported box which would use 300WRMS at 2 ohms when together in parallel. Would this be much of an upgrade? Are there any other better sub/s I could get which would run on this power?

Really looking for thumping bass, but I do like sq aswell.

Cheers.

Sundown audio E series subs are 400 rms. Also Sound Solutions Audio Dcon would be good on that power. Either in a properly designed/built ported enclosure should be a nice upgrade from your current set up.

How much room do you have to work with?

Thanks I'll have a look into them.

Ahhh... not too much, it will be used in a 4 door hatchback. So bootspace is still pretty decent, could fit a couple of 12"s no problem in there.

What sub were you thinking of? I'm open to suggestions...

There's nothing to compare. Kicker comp is massed produced. It's not going to have the same quality as the SA, Alchemy, or SSA.
awesome thanks, my only concern was that because if I got kickers I would end up with two of them vs one of these subs.

reviews on the internet seem to be praising the SSA DCON 12, havent found a bad review yet.

get the sundowns.....if thats not what you are wanting you could also try cvr's type r's...pioneer champion series and old infinity kappa perfects

No lol... OP take this from a old comp owner don't be to hasty in your next purchase just read around here for a bit... If you want some nice daily SQ but more out put then your current 12 I would go with a DCON or a Skar IVX 15... If you have the room go ported if you wanna save a little space sealed for either of those subs is just fine...

I'll have a look at them, unfortunately I havent found anywhere in australia where SSA DCONs are sold... was really looking forward to that 15" lol
