Lol please have you any real experiance with audio?
Alpine type X is SQ based sub it sounds really good.

I gave my 400rms kappa pefect over 800wrms daily and it never had a problem.

Yes I have, and I just don't find the alpine X appealing. Call me what you want, frankly I don't care, but thats my 2 cents.

And I guess I had a shitty Kappa perfect.

i was running it with a jbl 300.1 with 6db Bass boost.

I think I will try to buy 2 10.1 Perfects for a new project car.

I dont know what to tell you. Its not magic. In the installs I have done with them, I actually notice the difference. Type r's will blow them away in loudness but the x is a much tighter (install word) all around driver imo. And its just opinions, so make sure you include that next time you give advise. Install will always be more important than equipment chosen.

I have changed my original post. And tell me what box specs you have done, if ever for a single 10" type X for superior sq. Insurance is being really gay. It's been about 1 month already. Almost 1 month. No check no nothing. Taking them this long to evaluate the car and see how muchs worth. Just faxed them the receipts of the aftermarket purchases. Hopefully get enough to buy a TL or something. I miss my car.

I havent done any 10s but for the 12 I usually just drop them in a cube or so sealed and they are fine. I typically dont recommend porting them but everyone has different taste.

you have to be on their ass about it, when my 2000 Suabru 2.5RS got hit on a stop light, I waited, within a week nothing happened. then I stared *****ing for 4 days, right away came the appraisal guy, damage assessment, i got a rental, and car was taken to shop.

Check came in with in anotehr 4 days.

Yeah that definitely sounds a little big for a 10. I may even go .75-.8 and maybe add a little polyfill if that isnt the sound he is looking for.

Ported less they will get louder and still sound semi descent but nothing like sealed. Thats why if ported is what they want I usually steer them towards r's

I would look into buying 1 jl audio 12 inch w6. My dad has 6 10 w6s and its the hardest hitting base you can find for a decent price. About 400.00 for the sub and a jl audio amp would be best, get a 500 jl1 for about 500.00 at best buy. And you will be blowing quality base soon!
If you really want the tightest base though go with a 10 inch the 12s are a bit more sloppy.

He said he built the box to specs. the box sits between the two bucket seats with the subwoofer firing at the dash board.

I'll try getting him to cough me up 50 bucks to build him a box. I'll let you know if my opinion on the type x will change.
