Best sub and amp + enclosure for under $200

I would be putting it in my 96 Pontiac Bonneville. It's got a fairly large trunk (18 cubic feet) and I dont want the sub to take up the whole trunk. I don't need it to be crazy loud or anything. I just want the lows of my music to sound good too. I usually listen to mostly rock with some hip hop and other varieties and a medium volume. I could build the enclosure myself if necessary. Any help and recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

i think i found a diamond d3 12 inch 400w rms sub and a mtx 4 channel amp on cragslist for like 70 bucks or something... look and you'll get lucky...

I'd worry about the amplifier being of low quality with this budget. A more realisitc budget would be around $300. I'd split the money this way:

Subwoofer+pre-fab sealed box = $150

Amp = $150

For subwoofer, I'd pick something a 12 with reasonable qtc in a typical sealed box (1 to 1.5 cu ft). At $100, I'd look at RE Audio SRX12, either 2ohm or 4ohm DVC depending on the amplifier configuration. These are good value if you buy it for just $100-120 online. Sonicelectronix had them on sale for just $70. It's well suited for a 1-1.2cu ft sealed box. (~0.7 qtc in 1.2cu ft) Very good throw (18 mm or so). I had one for a year, and it was a good subwoofer. Very music and surprisingly good impact for a sub powered with a 250watt amplifier. If you can afford it, an Infinity Kappa 120.9w would be nice for a small sealed box as well (it usually costs around $140). This enclosure could work well:

Give it 1-1.3cu ft sealed box stuffed with polyfill. I have seen a test of a Sony XM 4-channel amplifier with test results looking decent, but snr was in the 70s. But then gain, this spec probably matters less for subwoofer.
