Best SQL Sub

I'm looking for some opinions on the best 15" SQL sub that will sound great and get low but still do well in the SPL lanes. I'm looking for something that is under $500 and 1500 watts rms and below. Right now I have my eyes on a Sundown Audio Nightshade 15"D2 which is on sale for $499. Anyone anyone??????

I'd rather go big or go home..i dont think the Q is enough SPL for me. I want something thats sounds good and gets very low while getting in the upper 140 DB range

Get a couple good subs, and build a proper enclosure for them. They will get up there.
I dont know if should just keep my type r's and just make an enclosure for competitons and one for daily use. I was thinking about an enclosure thats 4 cubes tuned to about 40 Hz for competition??? Im not sure if thats not too high or if i could go higher... and a box thats 4 cubes at 32 Hz for daily. Im in the process of building my daily box, just have to put all the pieces together.

Upper 40 db range? That isn't SQ in the slightest man.

Ultimate157 had an old 15 mag in his jeep and it hit 146.6.

I'm not sure what his 2 15 Mag's are hitting.

2 sub's hitting upper 140's could sound good.

1 sub hitting upper 40's probably won't retain as much SQ.

And under 1500 watts. I don't see upper 140's, sorry.

Go with an FI BL or something along those lines. It has more SPL than the Q, and you won't notice the SQ loss.

if you go competition, don't build a big box. Usually SPL competitors use small boxes tuned high. That's what i've heard at least. And maybe the Type R may behave differently to that. Of couse, i could also be very very wrong

^probably best choice so far. 1500rms, great SQ and can get frickin loud. i say take it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif since im slow this was meant for the 15" revo

Type R has no SQ, totally serious, sounds like ***. No offense to your setup, but they do
