best SQ sub under $150

Hey excelonperu how are you gonna order online and get your sub all the way to South America?

Do you pay extra taxes? How do you order? How can I order to Mexico?

Any info would be apreciated guys...

I just supposed you are in Lima, Peru... judging by your nick name and the city...

haha very smart KMU, yes it´s true I´m in Lima, Peru, probably I´m the only one from south America in this Forum, but I will be traveling to the USA on december, know where? yes to Tucson, that´s a coincidence, anyway, we ain´t got so many products here at our local stores so most of the stuff that is sold here is the lower end of pioneer or kenwood, and if you want better products like JL, excelon, premier, they will cost you twice as much as you pay in the USA, not considering that it´s impossible to order adire audio, nakamichi, eclipse, and so other many brands.

So I will be expending MY entire summer there in Tucson, with some family, and also want to check out for an ingeneering master´s degree program.

Yes you can order internationally, but you will have to pay more for S&H and extra taxes at customs.

If you still want to order some stuff some ebayers ship outside US, check also http://www.discountsjungle.com

I prefer to wait one more month and order all my stuff when I´m in AZ so I save more money

Hey PERU I know what you mean about expensive stuff putside the US... I cant get a cheaper price than $500 for a JBL1200.1 twice as much as in the US...

I'm in Chiapas Mexico right now, all the way to the border with Guatemala...that sucks...

In Tucson you can order online and get your stuff online, do not buy from The Specialist, they are too expensive... any extra info I would love to help you...

cool kmu, thought I was the only one in a non english-speaking country, yeah thats what I meant JBL is too exepensive here!

I can´t wait till I get to tucson and start using my credit card to buy online!

By the way what´s the Specialist? Is it a local car audio store?

Do you know any local car audio stores in tucson, cause I want to hear some JL subs and other stuff before I order them online.

Where are them located? I mean the address, men I would also love to work on one of them during summer , that would be nice!

if the bahns are soooooo good why arent they to be seen in he SQ lanes?

youre telling us that an Audiobahn Alum Q can keep up with, say an IDQ or an IDmax in terms of SQ???? cmon.........stop joking around now .D

you have obviously heard these. there is no way they can even hit 160dB. no a chance. they are geared toward only SQ, not to be loud. don't bash audiobahn because the install you heard didn't fit your liking. Audiobahn makes great subs for their purposes. If it is an SPL sub, then it sounds like crap, if it is a SQ sub then it can't get loud.

if you have heard an ALUMQ sub and thought it sounded like crap, then the install was bad. i have thrown everything i can find at this subs and it has no problems. 18Hz tones, 200+ beats/sec bass beats, bass tests up the ***, etc. i still have to give it one more test, a 300+ beats/sec test, we will see how it copes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Thanks KMU, I´ll check them as soon as I can, One thing I didn´t get is , Is the Specialist the only car audio stores chain in Tucson?, or you have told me the locations of different stores, that have nothing to one each other

thanks again

audiobahns purpose being to chrome EVERYTHING and find te shops wholl push it to the kids who dont know any better............the installer did a good job - but there is only so far you can go with audiobahn.........

audiobahn aint bad, for the money especially......they are a good overall street pounder and in terms of sales are 4 in the US market aftre RF, MTX, JL............

but i will leaveyou with this thought.........

1. have you EVER heard an IDmax., an OZAudio, an IDQ????????

2. if Alum Qs are so **** hot, why isnt aybody sensible who has his mind set on winning in Q comps use these "badass" drivers........??????

first off i didn't my homework on these, so i wasn't presured by some guy at a shop, it was my choice to go with these drivers.

are far as the IDmax, gimme a brake man. you have totally gone off topic on this one. The goal was Under $150. the ban comes in at $129. the IDmax is what, like $300? so yea, the bahn is better than the IDmax for THIS thread. if some guy had the money to blow (like they do in SQ comps) then i would say go get a W6v2 or something.

IDMax can be had for $250 courtesy of http://www.carmedia1.com, maybe even cheaper if off ebay or classifieds............the point i am sugesting here is that if you can wait and get together another $100, then you could get something that is in a totally different league............

And with regard to THIS thread, the W3, Shiva, IDQ and the OZs will, any day of the week, give better SQ than your $120 Audiobahn Q.........period........SPL, the Audiobahn may be even or slightly higher, but the SQ will not touch these companies, who specialise in making SQ subs, ID and OZ being prime example........Audiobahn is just the average Joe company, doing everything, mainly focusing on SPL and chroming up everything

another thought........the guys has bought your Audiobahn...hes had and is bored with it - now try n sell it - youll have a hard time.....try sell an IDQ, OZ sub or Shiva - itll go the day you advertise it beacuse people in the know know about these drivers..........

As a last note, its due to reasons like this that we have lost zane and ramos - lil kids coming on here and steering people who really are in need of help into the wrong direction and the tryina argue about it too.........

I SHALL NOT ENTER INTO ANY MORE CORRESPONDENCE ON THIS THREAD AS A RESULT.

i agree with you 100%. but that was not the point ofthe thread. under $150 was the goal.

i still think you are talking about the other Bahn subs. all the examples you have given keep talking about SPL. the model i am talking about has absolutely nothing to do with SPL.

another thought........the guys has bought your Audiobahn...hes had and is bored with it - now try n sell it - youll have a hard time.....try sell an IDQ, OZ sub or Shiva - itll go the day you advertise it beacuse people in the know know about these drivers..........
you are correct here. resale value sucks. but the resale on a ferrari is pretty bad too (no one wants to buy a used ferrari, if they got the money they will just buy a new one). I know it is a VERY bad example, just trying to point out resale doesn't mean that much, to some people at least.

As a last note, its due to reasons like this that we have lost zane and ramos - lil kids coming on here and steering people who really are in need of help into the wrong direction and the tryina argue about it too.........

i take great offense to this. the man asked for suggestions. i gave him a suggestion, that was it. just because you have had problems in the past doesn't make the bahn subs bad. i would like to point out the fact that before you ever responded that i already had one person in agreeance with me on the bahn subs.

don't try to put the blame on me for those people leaving. if they left, it was their own choice. they shouldn't have been influenced by anybody to do so.

The only reason i have been arguing with you is that the same **** names keep coming up in all threads. I have had a great experience with the ALUM Q, it has performed beyond my expectation. but if people only buy adire, JL, ED, etc (the brands that keep coming up in every single thread) then no one ever experiences alternatives. now don't get me wrong, those brands are great companies, but there is more out there. i mentioned the Bahn so that it would give him another choice, the more choices the better.

Lastly, why did you get so worked up over this? it is an argument, nothing more. you can't really expect to go on a forum and have everybody agree with you every time right? if you didn't want to continue the conversation anymore, why didn't you just stop? why did you have to publicly announce that you would not be posting any more? if you would have just stoped posting, everybody would have gotten the point.

so, anyway, back to the topic. the Audiobahn ALUM12Q i mentioned can be had for $129. they have performed well for me, but i guess not as well for some other people. try them if you would like, i PERSONALLY don't think you will be disapointed.

Originally posted by excelonperu Ok guys thanks for your help, I´ll go and hear th audiobahn Q, just to compare it with a JL or type R, by the way how much power do the bahns need?
they really need 300+ to get em going. like i said before that is their main flaw.

the type-r subs are nice too. they are a little more SPL oriented, but they sound great while getting loud. plus they are a little cheaper ($119 on http://www.ikesound.com)
