Well, my hercules finally came in today from warranty. fookers didnt send me back my end caps or boost knobs tho, they will be gettin a call in a minute.

Anyways, how do you all ground your high wattage amps? I want to make sure nothing happens to the amp this time around. Before, i had a hole drilled through the chassis underneath my rear seat, and just sanded and bolted it down. that ground works fine right now for the two amps i have hooked up atm (4ch alpine and a 300rms kenwood). Will i be okay grounding here or should i look elsewhere? Is bolting a good alternative or is there better bolts than others? welding lol?

for something like that i would run a second batt, and ground it there. just what i would do, they put out, and draw alot of power.

a second battery is kind of outta the question. I dont really have any room left in the back, so im just replacing my regular battery up front with the kinetik 2400. Is there any other solutions?

ttt. if i drill a hole, sand down both sides, and use decent sized washers and bolt, would that be a sufficient ground for about 1500wRMS? This is the plan, but i dont want to do this if its going to effect my equipment or show a lack of performance.

There is no best ground point, or at least it's different on each vehicle.

If your current system is grounded and not making any noise, there is no reason why a more powerful system can't be grounded in the same location provided you use the proper gauge wires and large washers. Just do what you did before, but use bigger wire and make sure you have good contact.

1500w can be grounded alot of places....thats not a critical amount or power by any means.....id say your ground u described sounded pretty good for the application

the seat bolts are not a method to ground amps, they are for holding the seats in. Over time, the slight movemnet of the seats will cause the terminals to compress and lose connection, not a good thing......
