Best set of crimpers to buy bar none.

vice grips work for most all of my crimping meeds. i have one that you put the ring terminal in and hit it with a hammer and it crimps it. those are myt 2 personal favorites

I'm just talking your standard 10ga to 18ga set.

There are a lot of choices out there. I would really

like a long lasting set that holds the wire in place while

if firmly pulls off the insulation.

Haha, I had a cheap pair of crimpers and I went through 6 2 & 8 AWG ring terminals before the crimpers actually bent. lmao.

They were $5 bucks... the only other ones they had were $35.

That doesn't describe a crimper, that's a stripper... and not even the good kind.

I have a set that will do that, spent... a little over $30 on 'em, lemme try and track down a link...

I have the blue set, don't listen to his write up, they are VERY good, fast, and unless you use the wrong size, rarely bite the wire itself

we use crimpers similar to these in the navy, and they are super bad ***. they have interchangeable die on them that you can buy different ones for different purposes.

and something like this for stripping the wire would be sweet;

"An adjustable wire length guide helps you make uniform strips, and a built-in wire cutter and crimper helps you complete your wiring job.

* Spring-loaded design

* Strips wires ranging from 24 to 10 gauge

* built-in wire cutter and crimper "

Where I used to work we must have had two sets and In my mind

I'm combining them into one. I thought we had a set that provided

similar function to the strippers you guys linked to, but then we must have had

another tool that crimped. I remember it was solid and it put a nice little

rectangular divot in the butt connector, it had different slots for different

sized connectors.

I'm such a noob.

I think req knocked it out of the park. Those are the two tools

I want. That blue one is what we had at my old job. If you were

in the Navy you may have heard of them. We were part of Gould.

Mornin/

I have those same Strippers,and they do a Great job stripping insulation,even on the smaller 20-22 gauge wire.The blades that strip are very sharp and strip insulation evenly.

I like them.
