Taiyo Yuden are the best Cdr's around, or at least used to be when i was archiving a whole bunch of music a long time ago. they had THE lowest c1 error rate of any cdr by far.

i think certain fuji film cdr's used Taiyo Yuden, and i know TDK used to use them to, and just rebranded them as tdk and fuji film.

the quality wont really be that important to actually hunt for the best cdr unless your doing some serious archiving and cant risk teeny little errors that you wont hear anyways

So best bet is just to go with TDK?

if its a rebranded Taiyo Yuden then yes (i always used fuji film because at the time they strictly used TY media and rebranded it)

just search google on what to look for when trying to find Taiyo Yuden branded media.

also depends what kind of burner you have, and what type of computer you are using+program....they are all factors...

Just like makin sure you have enough power in your car, good ground, good amp, good current.....they all have their own little effects

I've used a bunch of different brands and only problem I ever had was with some cheapo Fuji's that would scratch/flake off VERY easily. Only paid $5 for 200 though, so I guess I got what I paid for...

yes burners can have an effect. i have always used lite-on branded burners and TY media...then when i checked for errors in a k probe, i had SOOO little errors compared to other people. i was made the day my lite on broke....it was actually a TDK burner, but of course it was rebadged like everything else.

you should be fine with just about any media though and almost any burner. its kind of a game to try to get as best a quality as you can even though you wont really notice it.

my friend is telling me that my Sony CD-R can only burn up to a MAX of 128 bit rate. Like..hes saying even though my files are higher bitrate, the cd cant play faster than the 128 bit rate. He says I should buy some other quality. Saying something bout Cd R+ or something..is he full of it?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

taiyo yuden is great but it is kinda expensive compared to other cdr/dvdr. Certain brands of a cdr doesnt matter such as TDK, fuji, etc. Where that cdr is made is what matters.
