Everyone seems to be raging for DC on price and quality then Ill give them a call and tough out the wait I suppose. Maybe it wont take that long either considering its probably one of the most generic alternators

A TRU 215 amps at idle. not "rated" 215. I have a 220 max, 105 rated from Iraggi. Got it tested put out lik 170 max and 50 at idle...

basebalz can you get me some info on your alts? amps at idle, amps at 2k, cost for one for that chevette. 86 but they all take the same fit.

no one every mentions excessive amperage around here but they would be my first choice if i buy another ran them before and they are beasts installed one in a buddys truck 5 years ago and its still running strong no problems at all with it and didnt get any kind of run around when i gave the order to nate had it within the week went and pick em up personally to meet nate and its a one man business that is all he does and does it good with good customer service

I have experience with several Excessive units and zero issues... have 25k miles on the alt on my Jeep charging 7 batteries at all times.

A friend of mine has uses 4 of their alts now on this vehicles. No problems... have a few customers with them too, no problems.

Also have many Team members running Mechman and DC Power... all good experiences.

You know, repping your team's company is one thing, but it's kind of out of line to go around bashing every other company. I got my alt in about 3 weeks and Rob was so apologetic that it took so long he gave me a sweet upgrade for free. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from him again.

I dont think he was bashing them, just saying they take forever. As a consumer I dont care when it gets here so much as I care that it does the job good.

Also checked Excessive and sent in an email.

Have had a DC Power 250a for the last 10 months in my daily driver. ZERO issues, if I ever need another HO alt I will be looking them up.

No, he's gone past simply stating they can take longer, he's at the point where he's making fun of the company, and cracking jokes about how long they take. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal, because who cares right? Well he's held to a different standard being on "Team Mechman" his actions reflect onto Mechman as a company and honestly it doesn't look good.

go to autozone, let them bench it for you for free. They will throw a heavy load on the alternator and they will tell you whats the max amperage the alternator did. Show us pics of the alt and the results man!

I recall reading a thread that explained why that test means nothing...don't remember why, something about the way they test it isn't right, but I don't have a link so perhaps someone else who saw it can chime in
