I was looking at power bastard ,dc alts, and ohio gen. does anyone have suggestions or opinions on which company to go with? am I going to have problems using a V-groove pulley?

Try Mechman or any of the ones you mentioned. And type of belt doesn't matter you can change the pulley on all alt's.

I know you can change them i just didnt know if the belt could handle it? As of now Power bastards seems like the best deal

Well, for the system in my sig, I don't need anything that's going to put out a huge amount of power. I'm looking to upgrade to a 140 amp alternator but I don't want to go to the factory CS144 alternator because that will require me to swap the alternator bracket as well. I'm not doing anything crazy with my car. In fact, I don't plan on upgrading either of my amps for a long time. They more than suffice for my taste. Knowing that, for my needs, is a Powermaster alternator a decent alternator?

db electrical makes good alts. Never had a problem with one.

Those are the words of encouragement I was looking for. Thanks. I'll probably be getting one in the next month or two. Even with my big 3 now, I dip into the 11s at idle sometimes. My factory alt is only a 105 amp and it's the original alt on the car. I'm sure it isn't putting out anywhere near what it did when it was new, 16 years ago.

no one every mentions excessive amperage around here but they would be my first choice if i buy another ran them before and they are beasts installed one in a buddys truck 5 years ago and its still running strong no problems at all with it and didnt get any kind of run around when i gave the order to nate had it within the week went and pick em up personally to meet nate and its a one man business that is all he does and does it good with good customer service
