best GPS Navigation system for 300

whats the best navigation system i can get for my car, i dont need anything fancy with all the bells and wisles, just something to help me out when im in places i dont know of or on a road i dont know the name of. i dont anything about these units, i just know sometimes i could use one here and there so im trying to learn a little about them.
