I'm gonna say there is a reason DJ recommends 4.0 cubes @ 40hz. I don't know waht happened with George but I see no reason to have to tune that low. Mine plays plenty low @ 40hz.

this setup is in my explorer. from my experience as well as Jeramiah25, we both agree that the standard recommended AQ box, just doesnt work good in our vehicles. it just doesnt get super low (i remember the lows being stronger, but im starting to think it was more so a placebo effect, and the fact that it was a while before i got to run my hdc after selling my btl)

he did say that he has heard it in other cars and it works fine though.

all i can say is in MY explorer, 4.5 @ 33hz works better than 4 @ 38hz...i know it doenst help but i dont want to steer you the wrong way. obviously there is someone in here that is happy with a 38hz tuning in a trunked car, so it might just work.

well thank you and I guess I will take another look at my trunk dimensions and re calculate what I am comfortable with

ok I have re looked at my trunk and have realized that the most I can fit is 5.24 cu ft gross....so more help now would be great

ya ive got an explorer too and mine sounds great with the 4cu ft at 34@hz...
