I had an Alpine 7949 I remember really liking

I have a 7949 but it’s having a cd issue the radio works fine

One of the best, in that era, was the Sony Mobile ES CDX-C90. With four 20-bit DACs and that DVOL function that bypasses all circuits except volume control, it's SQ was among the highest. The Denon DCT-1 and Rockford Fosgate Rockford Fosgate RFX-8250TI were excellent head units, as well. I think they were made by the same company.

I may be selling my CDX C90 soon ..I haven’t decided yet

I still enjoy my old Eclipse HUs.Not alot of updated features but sure sound dammned good a clean though.Always had great luck with my Concord HU I had back in the day..Baukpaunts like the santa Fe ,montreal and a few others.old Sony Hus, and NakaMitshi (MSpd).

ive also always liked eclipse. They had that nice piano black finish and the blue they chose to go with really complimented each other imo. Really stinks that theyre gone now. wth heppened to fujitsu ten anyways? I mean quality product + good retain network + not outlandish pricing compared to their peers usually = longevity. WHAT GIVES?? LoL
