Best Coxial Speakers?

i dont see why if i made a adapter out of like 1/2 or 1/4 mdf it would space it out enough to fit the 6.5 speaker into the 6x8 spot? Would this work? Have the adapter hole size for the 6.5 and the speaker mounted to the adapter, then since the speaker narrows down as it goes to the magnet, it would fit into the whole without cutting it. If you dont get what i am saying i will draw a picture or something in paint.

JL XR coaxils sound absolutely fantastic. Most impressive set of coaxils I have ever heard. They were running on a 300/2 in a work van off an eclipse HU. Things just ripped.

i have heard those as well. we go through a lot of coaxials because of the boats, usually at least 4 sets per boat. the pioneer revs are usually the loudest and best sounding at higher volumes, the momos are loud and about the same as the diamond d3's. i have eight d3 6.5"s in my boat with a zapco 1000.4 and the highs sound the same, i also have a d3 12" in my boat, super clean bass. anyway, i kill this guy all day that has three JL 300/2s and twelve xr 6.5"s.

I have the exact same issue with the 6x8 opening, but I want to use 6.5" components...What do I do?...In fact they are the Boston Acoustics Pro60, does the tweeter have to stay in the center of the woofer, or can you mount it anywhere?... I can only order them online, and am afraid they may not fit once I get them...I need to install them a '00 mustang if that helps at all...

well you could do that but if its spaced to far from the accuall door its gonna rub the doorpanel...you would'nt have to cut alot

Well if it rubs the door panel, ill cut it, and use the grilles tha come with the speakers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif or fiberglass something up. dunno. But it should work. i thank all of you for your help. im gonna end up getting the dls or those crystal ones.

never heard the 6.5s but the carbon fiber momos are good but pricey; i think polks prone to have their surrounds ripped easily???
no, we put tons of power on them and use them in harsh enviroments, boats. moisture and sunlight all day, when playing for 5+ hours per day at ridiculous volumes.
