ok... i give up. im going to quit bs'ing around and get some

comps put in with an amp.

I NEED MIDBASS... im not afraid to spend money on the

right set.

my HU plans got back burnered for a while since

the dash kit is going to be nearly 180 bucks alone.

everyone crucifies 6x9s, which i may upgrade just because

im upgrading all the speakers. but the comps are what i

NEED NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i will not run the XXX mids... i want a nice midbassy comp

set. please also recommend an appropriate amp if you can.

thank you.

It's raining men!
Yes, because that was gay.

Anyway...I think you should look into Image Dynamics CXS62's. They are the 2 ohm version so you can save a little on an amp. A lot of people have had luck with them. Keep in mind that there are a lot of things that determine midbass (install), and midbass isn't the only thing to look for in speakers. If you can give us a price range, there a lot of great sets, and you can really beat yourself up trying to find just the right one, especially when in most cases, its tough to listen to most of the options that the forum will give you.

Check out the Adire Koda's.....midbass on them is supposed to be pretty great. Boston Acoustic's Pro series has nice midbass aswell. As mentioned, the ID's. OZ Audio Matrix Elite's aswell.

yup Koda 6.1 comps are great in teh midbass dept. My doors are still awaiting edead so they pretty much shake heavily when the lower notes hit. call Adire Now for your very own Koda 6.1 comps set.

As for the rear speakers - Many recommend to remove them so I did = happy

What can your doors fit sizewise and depthwise? My car had 5 1/2 and I made baffle rings to fit the Kodas out of MDF.

Having your doors sealed and deadened and all that jazz is going to play a huge part in how your midbass sounds. Think of how much time we spend talking about sub enclosures and how important a role that plays.

well i just managed to find out that my mounting

depth is a whopping 2 1/4" for a 6.5... and apparently

the stock location isnt even a circle but some sort of

octagon with clips...

between this and the HU dilema... this car is becoming

less and less worth the money...

Rainbow SL's have nice midbass and have a 22mm mounting dept....with the right power and sound deadning they are excellent performers in the mids dept

I have a buddy running Arc ACS- shallow mounting depth as well- in an Accord sedan sending them only 50rms and they sound great as well

If you want even more shallow drivers look into Illusion's

Is there any way you can make an MDF ring and mount the ring to the octogon thingy, and then mount the speakers on the MDF...Would get you more mounting depth as well as something more sturdy to mount the speakers on.

8's is all you can do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif Wussy.........
if i didn't care about legroom i would go with a pair of avalanche 12's in aperiodic enclosures... :p

but legroom is good. even now i'm worried i'll step on my DLS's...

Yeah geoffrey, put avalanche 12's in aperiodic enclosures for "midbass."

side note - squeak: are there any other midbass woofers that perform really well at 50 to 200 hz like the koda 8's?
