Best Components?

So the CMX Kicks will actually have a brighter and more crisp sound to the highs than the Geraniums?
With comps a lot of people look for midbass. The kicks do that well. You can't go wrong.

You also can't go wrong with the germaniums.

You also can't go wrong with the Hertz MLK 165s or the HSK 165s.

Those are some great speakers, all of them, it just depends how much you're willing to shell out. I'd say best bang for the buck go with the rainbow kicks ($220-$280) or Hertz HSK 165s

Pm datboyroi he knows a factory authorized hertz dealer with some GREAT cheap prices

what bout rockford fogsgate heard from a friend of mine they are pretty good
I've heard good things about the T series and the Fanatic series, but I can not confirm if that's true. Might be worth checking out, nonetheless.

I'm thinking of going with the Rainbow CMX 265 Kicks. Its either that of the Focal 165KP's

Do you think the Alpine PDX 2.150 is enough to run either set? I love the iPaul amps but the PDX is only $244 shipped and everyone seems to like these amps

PDX amps are rock solid and you can mount them damn near anywhere. Rainbow just released their new SLC sets, so that might make the decision a bit tougher if you are wanting some CMX Kicks. I don't think you can go wrong either way. Click here for some initial info about the new SLC.

Still looking at the CMX 265 Kicks, but i was wondering if anyone has heard them compared to the focals?

Also looking at MB Quarts QSC 216's, and JL Audio's new C5 component set. Ant one have reviews or experience?

the best componets are AD600R 2ways from audio development and they are great all round for SPL and SQ in all high end installs or for straight SQ the best is MM3 3ways from Audio Development the whole MM series is fantastic pure sonic bliss and the misic r4eproduction is second to nopne i have heard a lot of speakers in my time claiming to be great for sq these are the only ones Ive heard that back the claim with results

But the price reflects that perfection aswell AUDIO DEVELOPMENT MAKES FANFARKINTASTIC FOR ALL YOUR REQUIREMENTS AND THATS JUST FACT IVE HEARDS THEM ALL AND THEY ARE THE BEST

For $400 you could afford to buy the processing to go active and still get very competent drivers to start with...really a no-brainer for me.
True, although going active isnt for everyone.. It takes alot of time and patience getting everything tuned correctly. Some people dont want to spend the time doing all the tuning.. One other thing to consider

- Out of those two, I'd go with the Focals... especially if you can get them locally.

I went back and listened to the Focal KP's again today and they sounded great. The store wants like $800 for the set and woofersetc wants $460 so eventhough they are local I'd still buy off the internet for cost reasons if thats what i decided to go with

For that price, I would look into the polk srs.. Much easier on the ears than the k2ps, and better midbass..
