Best Components?

I know this has been asked before and its a question that is very much based on personal preference, but that is what im looking for.....your opinions. Ive researched every night for the last week and a half trying to decide what company i should go with. they only brands i have been able to listen to is alpine, JL, focal, and thats about it. I really like the focals, but for the money, is there something better?

the other companies i seen posted on here alot...

Rainbow

CDT

Diamond Audio

BA

and of course the new PG RSD's

I would like to keep it to under $400 for the components.

They will be going into a 2003 Acura TL Type-S, and as of right now i only plan on doing a front stage and i will pick an amp based on which component set i get. The stock speakers are 5.25 but everyone has said that 6.5 fit perfect so thats what i'd like to go with.

Thanks in advance and i hope i covered all the bases for my first post.

i'm willing to spend up to $400 for the comps, but at that price, i can get two sets of Focal coaxials and run a front and rear as opposed to just the front. I just dont think i want coaxials, this is why this is so difficult. i dont know what i should go with

Can anyone compare the RSD's to the Focal 165V2"s?

I sampled the Access line as well as the V1 at the local Car Toys here in town. They were running a PDX 4.150 and both the access and the entry level polyglass sounded like *** when the bass hit. The V2's took it pretty good but the entry level KP's took it even better but those are tight at $400 a pair and the RSD's are what, $87?

I'm not a fan of focal tweeters. But i think the rsd's can be beat for 400 dollars. Just nothing is coming to mind at the moment because i am so wowed by them lol. I'll sit around and think for you, and go listen to my rsd's

^ agreed. If you want to stick with a passive boxed component setup, check out the Pioneer TS-C720PRS's. Passive, run them with around 100-150w rms per side. Active, about 60-75w rms per speaker. Amazing set, especially for the price from internet retailers.

with the money you're willing to spend, you can do better than RSd's. the RSd's are alright for budget comps...but with that kind of money, there's much better stuff available. i know for sure there's some crazy deals on CDT's top of the line ES-62i right now that would fit your budget.
