Best Buy techs are hilarious

Well, the average consumer doesn't want to go to CC for a custom install, expensive subs, speakers and amps....
Here's the best we got:

12" Kicker L5's (Complete with prefab box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif) $399

Kicker ZX1000.1 $650

Polk db 6.5" Components $199

Pioneer AVIC Z1:yumyum: $2300

Eclipse 4x100w RMS amp $???

See what I mean? Most customers just want an insexpensive setup when they come into CC.

We don't do much custom stuff that because it's cheaper for us to throw a prefab box in a car, because we spend time installing instead of building.
and the sad part is even you know people can pick up all of those products for half of that price on the net, heck i can get 2 12" kicker l5's for 300 with a pre fab box, the amp i'm sure i can find for 300-400 bux, pioneer i've seen as low as 1700

as for the eclipse....yea idk bout their products, just not my type, and all that was WITHOUT going on ebay.

Locally they do build "custom" enclosures on occasion made of wood, no glass. Not really sure I would want them too . But I have seen a couple. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I always thought of cc and bb as head unit shops more than anything //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

No, you wouldn't be able to hear it as your ear is not physically capable of perceiving those sounds. You would "hear" it, but you would not hear any information whatsoever in it. It would just be a sine wave which would be more visceral than audible. People like the low lows (in the 20s) because they cannot truly "hear" the bass, but it is visceral and can be felt. Quite a difference.
Not quite.

There have been studies... among others, a study done of pipe organists... that determined that there is a DEFINITE sense of PITCH DEFINITION (ie, determination of musical "note") down to at least 16 Hz.

This is undoubtedly why pipe organs were BUILT with ranks that go down to 16 Hz (64 foot stops)...

Pitch definition can really only be done in the ear... so by inference, there IS audible sense in the ears, down to at least 16 Hz, in some people...

Regards,

Gordon.

i wouldn't even purchase things from them, but for lower end equipment they do make a good "testing" ground so you can get an idea of how loud subwoofers might get.

Because they would cut your stock harness off;)
Not mine. For a while cc was the only store that carried alpine head units locally. I would not buy an alpine head unit because cc sold them installed only //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

They do have some decent head units with eclipse now though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

There's a cd7000 in the sound board here. I'd take it over the pioneer or panasonic they have in a heartbeat //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

my point exactly, they won't invest in the better pioneers and panisonics, basically they are pushing products without actually pushing them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Ughh what?

The reason that shop had a cd7000 is probably because the manager probably special ordered one for display... they aren't normally shipped to stores(atleast not in my region).

i wasn't refering to the eclipse in any way shape or form, i'm talking about the lower model pioneer, panisonics....and the fact that sony is still on that wall.

Do you have some hard on against circuit city for some reason? They sell what appeals to their markets... you know how much money they put into market research on what they should and shouldn't sell?

And as far as you saying "well why don't people just buy shit online" or whatever the **** it was. Some people like to talk to someone that knows something about the products, actually use/hear the products, buy from an authorized dealer, and sometimes even buy extended warranties. Not everyone is a cheap ***.

And as far as circuit city doing custom work, that's not their main goal. Some shops do it and anyone that works for cc can vouche for that, there is numerous pictures on our tech site.
