I prefer supporting a local retailer, gain their trust and you will get better products at better prices. Loyality goes along way and Best Buy could give a shit less about loyality.

2 12" 150-RMS each, 360watt amp, Insignia from best buy for like 100$. If you want somethin cheap go with that, hits very good for the money, other than that, best buy is really shitty and overpriced

when I used to work at CC they had no idea how to set any gains.... they would go by woofer size and how much the amp put out......

when I asked a guy I used to work with how he wired up a dual 4 ohm l7 (the amp was only 4 ohm stable bridged) he looked at me confused and told me he wired it to only one side. The other one was there for if the sub blew, you could still use the terminals on the other side to power it.

shortly after that I started my own thing.

So because a bunch of randoms, who have no idea what clipping sounds like, tell other randoms to use a DMM (probably a ghetto $10 walmart DMM) because they saw a sticky on it means that it is the proper way of setting your gains? Sounds pretty retarded to me.

The only time I will ever recommend using a DMM to set gains is when using multiple amplifiers. Other than that, I will use my ears/eyes first, scope second.

They carry Rockford, Alpine, and Pioneer. Not exactly crap brands. The salesmen are just cashiers. Nothing more, nothing less. And I blame the customers more for the subs sounding like crap, not the salesmen.

Best Buy is a large retail chain that sells one or two decent product lines of car audio (along with a lot of other various electronic and appliance-related items), but the items stocked in-store are junk not worth even listening to in the first place. I work at CC (part-time/college) and we keep our amps out of reach of the customers. People arleady **** around enough with the stuff in their, I couldn't imagine our amps (gains) being in reach.

I wouldnt really bash on best buy that much. Just think if you worked there and everyone was talkin shit about how everyone there sucks. I am sure if you get one good guy there they can really teach the rest on whats right. So i think there is really no need for bashin, maybe some places just have shitty people, but some others just might be quite knowlegeable
