Hey looking for recommendation of car speakers, preferably below $130 and warm lows, as I tend to appreciate that more than bright highs.
unless they dont have any tools to tune with then its a crapshoot. which is the majority of the newer guys asking questions nowadays. A proper tune will not be accessible to almost all of these guys thinking they can just run a cheap head unit or the stock head unit with no processing.Warm and bright is in the tuneLook at JBL, Polk, infinity.
Hate to hijack but I'm kind of in the same place looking for cheap components and this keeps coming up. I've read all the sound deadening sticky but most of you guys get crazy with the doors, whats the point of diminishing returns? I ask because I'm splurging on a proper hu and cash is tight. It's all about your prep work on the doors
If you have a proper head unit, skip components all together and run active with raw drivers.Hate to hijack but I'm kind of in the same place looking for cheap components and this keeps coming up. That sounds like it'd be best from what I've seen of the kdc-x998, but since wiring isn't my strongest area I'm not sure what is all involved with doing separate drivers/tweeters as gm wired the tweeters and front speakers in series from the factory as I understand. If you have a proper head unit, skip components all together and run active with raw drivers.
never mind, that head unit does not have active network capabilities so that idea's a bust. That sounds like it'd be best from what I've seen of the kdc-x998, but since wiring isn't my strongest area I'm not sure what is all involved with doing separate drivers/tweeters as gm wired the tweeters and front speakers in series from the factory as I understand.
Okay maybe proper was stretching it, a $400 hu in my beater doesn't sit well. It definitely should be up to my needs and goals though. Im Just looking into speakers and sound deadening now.never mind, that head unit does not have active network capabilities.
a touchscreen head unit with active network and crossover options with 13 band EQ and time alignment is available for 200 new with warranty... Shoulda asked the forum before you made the jump.Okay maybe proper was stretching it, a $400 hu in my beater doesn't sit well. It definitely should be up to my needs and goals though. I haven't bought anything yet, so I'm open to anything but I just really didn't want to do a double din conversion on my blazer. I'd have to buy a new dash bezel in the right color which adds another 150+ to everything and hack it all up.a touchscreen head unit with active network and crossover options is available for 200 new...
