Ok I used to have a 2003 F150. I had 5x7 pioneer somethings in the doors running off just HU power. I put sound deadening all over the door to seal it up and I put it on the inside of the door and even used expandable foam on the inside of the door. My speakers still had barely anything under maybe 60hz.
My sisters car and her boyfriends truck both have stock sound systems and their door speakers have way more bass than mine did. My sisters can play down to about 35hz at a good volume without distorting.
Both their cars are newer than mine and both have very quiet exhausts. Could my lack of low end just be because my semi droney exhaust was phasing with the speakers? Or is it just better sound deadening technology from newer cars? Idk what they each have in their vehicles like if it is Bose or something... Maybe that might be what it is because I'm pretty sure Bose systems are externally amplified.
I even put my stock speakers in my sister's boy friend's truck which is an f150 just 1 year newer than mine and those ****** stock speakers put in his door sounded better than my aftermarket ones did in my truck.
