Best Budget 10?

Alright, so I have a 2001 Cadillac Seville, and I just tore the 10" subwoofer that comes stock, so I am looking to replace it. I am looking for something loud, but sounds good, and doesn't break my meager bank. At the moment, I am looking at an Orion HP10D4, and a Kicker SWR-1042D. The Kicker has a little more top end with 1500w total, to the Orion's 1000w, but they are both rated at 500w RMS, so it doesn't really matter. I'm only looking to spend about $100-$125, since I also have to buy an amp. Any advice is appreciated!

You mean Alpine, not kicker. Type-R's are great budget subs, I'd go with it over the orion, no doubt. There are many other options to consider, but of what you listed, the Type-R is the way to go.

What enclosure is this going in? If it's in the stock location, I assume it's a sealed box. If so, I'd go with the Dayton Reference HF at partsexpress.com, or the MB Quart RWE on ebay, for sealed applications. If you have more money to spend and can afford a 750-1kw amp, the high qts versions of the Fi Q would be a good option too.

No it's mounted on the reardeck in an infinite-baffle setup.

OP do you still have the stock 10 inch sub that you tore out? Check the impedance and the exact outer diameter of the stock sub to make sure the new sub isn't any bigger, especially if the mounting ring is recessed on the reardeck. You might also want to make sure it doesn't hit your trunk latch spring but I don't think it will. Another thing to consider is the factory amp for the sub isn't very powerful, like 50 watts or something, so you want to get something efficient, like with a sensitivity at least in the low 90s. The JL W0, older Kicker Comps, Cerwin Vega Vegas/stealth are decent choices.

Sealed box woofers with a higher qts are still the number one candidates for IB.

This, check impedance first and foremost so we can have an idea of what ohm load you need to macth up with the stock amp.

Actually, I'm getting rid of the stock amp. At the moment, I am deciding what subwoofer to buy first, and then I am going to choose my amp based on that. The only thing to consider here is my enclosure, which Wingman said is an infinite-baffle setup. So basically, what is the best budget 10 inch subwoofer for an infinite baffle setup, without the amp taken into consideration.

This will work well, but it's an 8ohm woofer. You can still find a 2 channel amp that does 2x100-2x150 at 4ohms to bridge to it though, since it doesn't need a whole lot of power.

Here's another good option without spending a whole lot of money.

IXL-10 v2 SL [iXL-10 v2 SL] - $149.00 : Mach 5 Audio

If you want to go really low buget you can probably find a little 2 channel in the classifieds here for ~$40 to power this.
