Best brands?

I'm new w/ all this, but I just got a 2003 Mitsu lancer.. and i want to put a system in it.

Trunk space is an issue. There's not a huge amount of room back there. But I think I could fit a set of 12's. What are good brands for subs? I'm looking for a hard hitting sound. Something that will pick up those low bass lines in Drum&Bass (techno).

I don't even know where to start, so any advice would help.

maybe give us a budget and let us know what you are looking for out of your system. are you more into sound quality or what? that would be a huge help.

Adivce, go out to BB or CC, local audio shop

Listen to diff sizes of subs and different brands.

Same with speaks and H/U's

I'm not looking to spend more than 400$. I'm more into the quality of the sound.. I don't want something that rattles in the trunk.

Yea, I'm going to look at subs in audio stores, but I wanted to have an idea of what to look for while I was in there.
