Best amp to power an FI “Q” 12??

I am using a JBL Bp1200.1 to power the Q

Several people say I can give it “way more power”

Please chime in with your suggestions

If I get a new amp, I am hopeful to get a little money out of the JBL. It’s been a GREAT amp.

My 12” FI SSD old ufo looking motor was run on 1500 Rockford Fosgate and that sub was rated either 750 or 1000

Which version ..? as in what options does it have... I had a Fi Q with full upgrades before and I ran a 2200w amp to it. 1000w was barely enough to tickle it. No matter what version you have, I would look into upgrading your amp and electricals. The more the better honestly. You can try it out with your jbl amp first and go from there.

That was back then. Now everything has gone china with those mainstream brands. They are not made like how they used to be.

Is that a new sub or older model

Big 3 and 1/0 power and ground minimum

I would put the largest AGM Battery I could fit under the hood.

A new truck should have a fairly strong alternator from the factory

Big 3 should cost $50 if you spend wisely

This upgrade augments three key cables in the electrical system with 1/0 or 4 gauge wires: the battery ground to chassis wire, the chassis to engine block wire, and the alternator plus to battery plus wire

Without upping your electrical you'll need to stay around 2kw provided you do the big 3 and upgrade your power and ground wiring
