Best amp for Sundown E-10 v3, 500W RMS sub $200

Should have gotten the CAB... having the extra power is like money in the bank... IMO... but I'm not really objective in this case
The CAB is completely unnecessary in my application and not worth the extra $65. Plus it's huge and would be tough to stealth-install and still retain storage compartment capacity. This is going into my nice X5 daily..

i cant disagree with you here. Headroom is always nice, similar to driving a Bugatti Veyron around at 40 mph with full knowledge that a tip of your toe can get you to 150 in a few seconds
You can have that Bugatti... LOL!.. I'd prefer this...

Then I guess you made an informed purchase and will be set... sorry about the SonicElectronix woes you've had...

I will get my money back, mark my words. I purchased a replacement *new* NVX amp from Sonic, it's on its way here already, so they are getting some of my money either way. It ended up being only $5 more because of a $15 discount code Sonic had going for it.
so u already bought a 2nd nvx amp? it was really on 45 more?, i thought they were like $80 more than what u paid for open box or i wouldn't even had told u about it sorry man., maybe shoulda just talked u into ppi like mine 930rms @ 2ohm and it's very small..

LOL these dudes comparing the CAB to a Bugatti. That's more like the Chevy cavalier. The amp you chose is just fine for your application. These dudes are silly with the CAB talk sometimes. Sure it's alright, but if I drive an x5 there is no way I'm running a big ugly red CAB in it. I promise you that. The amp you chose can easily be hidden if you want it to be, and it is plenty for your sub.

Who is comparing the CAB to a Bugatti?.. not me to be sure... I may use them but I know it's a bargain amp... LOL!

Not you, just these dudes saying he made a mistake by getting the amp he got. Grandpa hounds anyone who doesn't choose the CAB or the PPI for their application. Those aren't the only two options on a budget, especially depending on your end goals.

Amp is on its way back. Had to pay for the shipping label which I think is unfair but at this point I just want it gone and my money back. Will never be doing business with Sonic again.
Yeah I like that it was amp dyno'd and verified to be at or above stated power. Plus it is compact, easy on the wallet and has a subsonic filter.
here's the kicker, NVX is sonic's inhouse brand hahaha. The make the most profit from people buying nvx over everything else.

agreed i'd get some tiny footprint full bridged amp like mmats or Brazilians and hide it all away or some fancy looking regulated internal power supply amps that look nice in a well done plexi/fiberglass rack if i was driving an X5.

The sight of a big red cab amp just adds 10 years of depreciation on the value of that X5 lol. Any other normal car it'd be fine but in luxury car's thats an eyesore.

I'm not very objective when it comes to the small footprint amps... I have ZERO experience with them except selling cheap HF 1000.1's to bargain hunters... for my own stuff, hiding it has NEVER been a concern with me in any build... that's just me I know... If I had to go with a small chassis IDK what I'd get... Old RF bd series or a Mmats maybe... I really couldn't say...

I was thinking Brazilian as well. A little 600 or 1k. It's a bummer that the price per watt on the smaller amps isn't as good at it is on the 8k+ amps tho lol. That's would be awesome

I have a crescendo s1500 that is about the size of a paperback novel, length of my hand. Does 1700 @ 14 certified on the dyno. I clamped 1200 after rise and dropping to about 11.8 volts on the term lab. Its a tiny powerhouse for sure

So the open box amp I bought at the time was $20 less than the new one. I figured it was just that, an open box... not so much. It was a thrashed used amp. When I was looking to replace it I saw that Sonic had a discount code for the NVX amp (previously not available) for $15, making the new one only $5 more than the "open box" one. I decided to jump on it since it was a good deal for a new amp and didn't want to let the code expire.

Haha I had no idea. That sort of makes the "open box" amp purchase situation even more frustrating. So it's a brazilian amp?

No it's not Brazilian, it's Chinese but it has a decent board. It's one of the more welcomed Chinese boards that people use. It makes good power on a small footprint.
