Best adhesive for metal dustcap

I have JB Weld in my garage and used it multiple times. Hasn't failed me yet. It should work for aluminum. Should tell ya on the back for usage on diff types of materials.

That loctite should be fine or jb weld or even e6000 glue.
Just make sure to sand the metal a bit to get a rough surface to allow it to bond better.

Wet sand it around the edges where the loctite would touch.

@NSTALN is it a Alchemy sub? Only metal cone speakers/subs I can think of and made.

Just rough it up a bit and it will be good.

Audiomobile MASS 12. I bought one a few months ago from a guy on DIYMA and when I got it the dustcap was loose and popped off. I have a second MASS that about 1/4 of the dustcap had come unglued as well. These things are at least 15 years old so I'm not too surprised they have small failures.

I did end up using the Loctite that I had. It seems to have worked quite well. I used a Dremel to remove the bulk of the old glue and lightly sanded both sides of that the new epoxy would be contacting. I then placed some weighted objects on the dustups to keep constant pressure to it...a few hours later they were good to go. The cones and dustups liked a little beat-up so I taped off the surround and frames and put a light coat of matte black pair on them.

They turned out pretty good...these two subs are designed for HT use and will be covered with grills so they don't need to look immaculate.

Uhhhh hate those dust caps. You can’t tell if there are any blemishes on them, the paint must have worked pretty well.

Good stuff //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fro.gif.c695f1f814b01c4ad99fe7f8cccadd29.gif

rigid cones attached to rigid dustcaps calls for a shock resistant substrate to adhere them. rubberized c/a, flexible 2pt. epoxy, or e6000

all the aluminum cone aura force/mr and alumapro drivers ive come across use something similar to e6000 for surround and dustcaps, but that stuff is much stronger and holds on like a hooker waiting for payment.

The matte black paint really does help cover the blemishes that were there. I'm pleased with the way they turned out.

dude yall and that ****** e6000.

Loctite 5-minute epoxy with the self mixing tip is extremely strong and remains elastic
