Best adhesive for metal dustcap

Audiomobile MASS 12. I bought one a few months ago from a guy on DIYMA and when I got it the dustcap was loose and popped off. I have a second MASS that about 1/4 of the dustcap had come unglued as well. These things are at least 15 years old so I'm not too surprised they have small failures.
Ahh...had no idea they had metal cones. All I know is they were online sales only when they 1st started up. Ran ok for awhile then they disappeared. Fast forward some time then they resurfaced. Don't know if they're still around or not.

In my opinion the MASS drivers are the best subs ever produced...that's why I horde them...I have (5) 12's. Underhung coil/motor, copper shorting rings, dual spider, tons of clean excursion, relatively shallow mounting depth, don't take much power to really sing (though they can take plenty), work exceptionally well in small enclosures...and they're rare as fvck.

I have yet to hear a sub that sounds as accurate as these with as much output. True gems.

The first design of the Flatlynes looked nice...they had a little less xmax than the MASS but had a similar design. The new ones look kinds funky. I do like that they went with Neo magnets...but that basket and weird surround...I have yet to see a complete set of specs on any of the new Flatlines so I can't model them to compare. It's nice to see some aggressive underhung subs on the market these days. Sundown SD's, Alpine Type S's, Incriminator Flatlyne's.

The only thing I would be concerned with, from a business standpoint, would be the market for such a monstrous driver. I would think the market for a driver that only requires about 500-600rms would sell much better than drivers that require 1500-2krms. Once you get to a point where you need to supply that much power there are serious upgrades that need to go into your electrical system to run properly. For most folks...at least if you're looking to sell to the general market...would be the crowd that could add a 5-channel with 500 or so out of the sub channel, or a 4-channel and mono 500 watt amp that wouldn't require any real upgrades/modifications to the vehicle itself. I mean if I walked into a shop and wanted a nice good sounding powerful sub and you start telling me about upgrading or adding batteries and/or alternator that would be a pretty big deterrent. But if I walk in and I'm shown a 12 or 15 that sounds great and only requires 500-600 with no real upgrades needed, then I'm much more likely to spend my cash. Not every one needs/wants a 80lb 15 that hits 140+ and requires 2k watts.

I'm my opinion Sundown and Alpine have a really good thing going with their underhung models...inexpensive and clean. The SD are a bit more pricey but shallow. The Alpines are cheaper and offer a 15. For value and good sound and build quality, the Type-S is hard to beat...unfortunately (for Alpine) most folks have no clue what they're buying and have no idea what underhung means for clean sound.

Jim Walters (who designed the Type-S) compared the attack and accuracy of the Type-S 15 to that of the Type-R 8! That in and of itself speaks volumes about the Type-S. If I were on a budget the Type-S would be at the top of my list. The 15 runs in 2cf sealed...not bad...not bad at all.
