Best 52" lcd

first rule in LCd is stick with the three s's sony, sharp, and samsung. Then depending on the money situation buy in that order. So yeah id say sharp is your best bet. I got a smaller sharp lcd in my dorm 32" and love it

i can tell you this...if you can you need to go to a store like good guys (are they even around anymore?), best buy, etc etc etc. because i have seen some of these tv's setup (no i cant afford them, but i can look) and watched the picture and it was the most disappointing thing ive seen. granted they werent the best quality and i dont know much about tv's anyways, but my eyes dont lie, and all the HD stickers (which would make you think the picture is supposed to look superb) on them made me think "WTF, it looks like shit".

Sometimes when I look at LCD sets, where theres fast motion on them, the images look almost like they're moving in water, kind of "swimming" instead of smooth motion.

I mainly see this on the lower priced sets, but sometimes I notice it on well known higher priced sets too.

yea some real weird shit. like i said i have no idea what good quality is on these new tv's. all i know is what my eyes do/dont like.

i would feel a lot more confident seeing it in person and then buying it off the net once i know what the performance is like.

Its called the "refresh rate" the better the tv the faster the processing and more fluid the picture is.Keep in mind too that the tvs at the store are being split many times so the picture quailty can be degraded.
ahh, well that makes sense...but that is the STUPIDEST idea i have ever heard. your trying to sell a TV for its picture quality, yet you dont go out of the way to show the customer what the actual picture will look like.

thanks for the heads up though. i was trying to figure out why the picture was choppy as **** and just looked nasty on a TV bragging about HD stuff.

It is stupid but it's true. The store I work in splits the signal over 300 times. Yeah they have amplifiers and everything on them but it'll still look almost 2 times better in your home and so forth!
