Best 1500.1 amp

Looking to buy an amp for my 2 12" kicker L7s. They are dual 4 ohms wired down to 1 ohm because of the box. What amp would you recommend to run on them and what wire technique would be best for them? I'd like to keep it under 400 if possible.

A friend of mine recommended the kicker 41 dxa 1500.1. I can get it for about 260 refurbished. Is this a good one or are some that gave Been recommended better?

Most that have been recommended id rather have specifically the twisted 1.8k or sq2200 or you could even grab a soundstream rubicon 2500.1(blue casing) off eBay.

Some good links, I like that Mike amplifier. Dang, I guess it still takes some coin to make 1500w.

What do you guys like for amps that make their power @ 2ohm?

Shoot, I remember drooling over the Orion Beast (>$1200), US-200HC ($2000), and Power 1000 Mosfet Chrome (>$2000) in the 90's as a late teenager. I think we live in VERY good times now for $/watt with class D amps and what not.

Oh, no doubt. I come from the same time period and drooled just as much. I realize the dollar per watt thing is not a 1:1 ratio anymore but I was thinking 1500 watt mono amps were running a bit cheaper than that for some reason. I haven't been paying attention.

Speaking of which, I was surprised to see the sticker tag on this bad boy, > $1/watt: 1200/1v3 - Car Audio - Amplifiers - Slash v3 - JL Audio Yes, I know that it will likely put out > 1200w.

Yeah, that's too high. Not as bad as Critical Mass prices, but close. The upside to those is that they supposedly make full power at any impedance. Pretty handy since most subwoofers are a handful when it comes to the reactive load they present.
I was thinking of grabbing a CT Sounds 1400.1 to play with this summer.
