thats trueAnd it's proven to gain efficiency with more airspace as long as the xmax isn't exceeded.
Being a downfire box it could also hurt me. what is the front and rear clearances on an X8 woofer?Keep in mind if you add a 8 baffle that will increase the depth 3/4 of a inch. DD 8s are on point. Cost will depend on your local dealer.
nope I gained when i shrank my box airspace for my old setup. Didnt lose any low end either just more output overall. Xmax wasnt even close to being reached. And it's proven to gain efficiency with more airspace as long as the xmax isn't exceeded.
Like I said it all depends in sub and design some subs like smaller boxes tc9 my old mb quart pwe 15 1.5 cube sealed was amazingnope I gained when i shrank my box airspace for my old setup. Didnt lose any low end either just more output overall. Xmax wasnt even close to being reached.
Thamks for the heads up they should fit according to fox i needed a 5/8" seat lift for the box i went with 2 1/2 so if i have to make a baffle hopefully it works outJust a heads up. I recently built an under seat box for 2 x8s and it wasn't easy getting the motors to fit. The angle of the top of the box makes it tight. I cutout clearance holes in the top and used 1/8 inch birch ply to seal it up giving me an extra 3/4 inch of room and still cleared it by just 1/8 inch.
