Took the beveled tops off to trace the cutout to find center point for the new baffles

we tried to port a under seat box (under rear seat) like that with 2 10's it did not work.. just not enough room..

That makes no sense at all. Should only see 2 mounting holes in that prefab enclosure. And when I see "aftermarket wood" attached to the back or bottom, something isn't right.

You should have just went to a reputable shop and had them build a box. Many would also help you di it yourself. I agree with the concerns on that box. Hope it works out buddy.

The only thing being done here is reducing the sub cut out from a 10" sub to an 8" subwoofer. Also by doubling up the baffle will stiffen the box where the sub mounts. Its really no big deal

No, your not getting it. Go to foxacousticsllc and look at there boxes and you will answer your own question that mclerico83 already answered

exactly like i said. foxacoustics is also a very reputable company. just make sure you re seal those well when you put them back on. No leaks. the sub holes where purp places in sputs where they could put the extra mounting depth under the seat.

Got 8" baffles installed. Got SunDown X-8,s mounted have almost 1/2" clearance from magnets so will not be reusing beveled tops, instead will seal with plywood cutouts.

You sure you don't want more than 1/2 inch of clearance for vent cooling. I would throw the baffles on.
