Benefit of using aero ports?

so its like a big single cab? sub up port toward the driver side on the side of the box would prob be the loudest. i dont understand how u got the port firing toward the back tho:wow:

EDIT: nvm i looked it up and it is an ext. cab unless i saw the wrong pic.

I'm just guessing, but maybe it has to do with air movement, why are straws round instead of squared??
why are tubes/hoses/pipes/etc round instead of square? Makes no sense:confused:

lmao bad arguement. Why would they be square? Comfort, probably easier to manufacture, more flexibility, etc, etc

My next box I'm switching to aeros just to see if I can tell a difference. The box is for a single 15 BTL in a ex-cab dakota. Sub up ports up behind the driver and 2 4in aero's tuned to 35hz.

try sub up or sub forward. port to the driver side with 1 8" pvc tuned to 35. should be LOUD.

one thing to note with though. While aeroports may make your box louder, it doesn't mean you'll pressurize your cabin any more than before (which is what results in a higher SPL score). For example I had a 15 crystal sub in a slot ported box, did 150db at the port. I also had a kicker L7 12 with aeroports doing 156db at the port. The crystal was louder on the mic by 0.6db even though the 12" box with aeros was louder at the port. you have to pressurize that cabin!

I've heard that sub toward drivers side was loudest on the meter but I really dont hit any comps. its just for daily. You think it would still work better than port up? Also why 1 8" aero?

all of the loud trucks i have seen at the headrest either do sub up or sub forward port side. one guy with one xxx 12 did a 145 at the headrest in a NICE sounding box sub forward port driver side. idk the watts tho. i mean 4 8's 1200 watts, 145 is a good score to me in a daily box. so it must work. i 8" is enough area for a 4 cube box and its easier to put in and brace one port than two to me. plus two 4 inchers isnt enough IMO.

i think u might have got higher at the port because of the smaller ports. i am pretty sure in port wars the port is almost like a straw.

i know the box is huge and may not look the best but i couldnt afford a fiberglassed box to fit better between the seats and match and blend better in the future i plan to do that or do a blow through since i have a bed cover

but everyone in the car can still see one another and talk to each other with no problem and i have the amps mounted behind the rear seats and still need to hide those wires somehow comming from the back battery to the amps and the wires in the port will hook them to the box terminal once i get bigger speaker wire

wow that has to be there weirdest setup i have ever seen lol.i would be afraid if i wrecked it would be a rocket thu the windshield.

its bolted down haha and i dont think its going anywhere anyway it would hit the roof before comming over through to the front

but i mean only way i can get loud as i wanted and it does get loud i wanted to glass up the backk wall and make it unique where it wouldnt be as tall but i didnt have the funds
