been outta the game for a while. simple question on OPINION

I'm starting with my components first. I have an Alpin 9885, so now im getting the comps. I am doin 3way comps. Dont critisize it... its what i want to do. Ive heaed 3ways and love them. I narrowed down to two sets.

Incanse you donr read it all, also... recommend some 3ways, 2ohm preferably, or some 2-ways with above average qualiry rhat hirs lows. My moms BMW has no subs, but her door speakers slam bass like crazy. Is that all cause of install?

I've heard them both. Eclipse sound better but lack bass/mid bass

The XXX sound food but dominate low end.

My dilema is... the price. If I get the XXX, ill need a 2ohm stable amp which will add alot more to the price. But ive been wanting these foreber. However, the eclipse is cheaper, and 4ohm which saves money. If you had to choose which woukld you get out of the two?

And if you could find me a decent priced amp that would run the XXX's that would be awesome.... mounting depth is a big prob tho... dhit. I may have ti gi with the eclipse. Those XXX are like 4 indh deep. I dunno... Maybe some nice ID Max comps...im ost help me

Im confused. You made it clear that you want a 3-way comp set, but both of your choices are 2-way.

eclipse made a 3 way set ALONG time ago. are you talking about 3way speakers like coax's where the tweets are built in. like in the lower lines?

i don't think anyone makes a 3 way comp set that's 2 ohms. also there is no such thing as ID Max component sets lol

There's also no such thing as a XXX coaxial, so I have no idea what the OP listened to, got quoted a price for, etc.

I like 3 way myself (if you can get creative enough to mount everything close together). AFAIK Boston Acoustics, Focal, CDT, Dynaudio make 3 way components. You will have better SQ at 4 ohms. Most multi-channel amps will go down to 2 ohms if you feel the need to go that way.

Personally I use an amp with enough crossover power to run a separate channel to all 6 of my front components. I don't have to dick with a pasive crossover and have the flexibility to use whatever components I like and adjust gain/crossover/etc. with more precision. Also probably for less money than a "high end" set of 3 way comps and a mid level amp.
