Been looking, still need help

So i have 2 subs that are dvc 4ohm and i need to wire them to get a 4 ohm load at the amp. I have a sub box that has one connection in the back. now i saw the diagrams already for how to do it, but do i have to run parrellel? Could i just connect them at the box terminal instead of running the one sub to the other one??

wire each subs coils in parallel, then wire them in series at the terminal
