batterys choice

i would start out with a big alternator.
yeah i know but they cost to much and im a little low on cash and how much would it cost to get the alt rewound? and still the question stands how many batteres for a 1800 watt rms system thanks.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

1 extra nice size batt and some 0ga should do nicely
ok good, with the big 3 too right that will do some extra good right.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

in my boat i realistically have about 2400 watts rms. i have two batteries dedicated to the system, and one dedicated to the boat only just in case i kill the other two completely. i charge them every time out and they are fine all day. i just leave the switch on batt #2 which is the two system batteries, rock all day and all night and i am fine to start up and go home on the same two batteries. i was even out all night over memorial day weekend. rocked out for 9 hours straight, started right up on the same two batteries. hope that helps. just make sure you get a decent battery and that it is wired correctly. i wouldnt use a battery isolater, because if the battery is too dead, it cant click over to make the connection to the other battery that is charged. i would use a manual switch from perko. they can be picked up at boat shops or west marine.

thanks i think i get what your saying so just use 2 batteres one for the car and the other for my audio and it should be fine with 1800 watts right?

you have to remember though, a stock alternator cant really handle charging three batteries at once. the only reason mine is setup like that is because i listen to my system with the motor off. i think two would be fine if you are running the car while listening.
