After installing my new alt, (160 amps) It used to take care of my voltage drops. But now, after about a month, I am getting a little voltage drop again. I havnt checked it on the DMM to see my voltage drop, but its not too much, just a noticeable difference in my headlights, but its not a heavy dim. The battery I have in this car is a stock replacement that is like 7 years old already. I know a new battery would do me good, especially a deep cycle. My question is do you think a new battery would help my voltage drops im experiencing again? If so wut do you reccomend as a replacement? Budget around $100-150.

How about this optima yellow top?

Thanks

dont mean to try and steal the theard here but, if your not listing to your system while the car is off whats some of the best batterys you can get for the money?

Okay, I tested my voltage drops on my DMM. With nothing on, its 14.7v. With system bumpin I have a voltage drop down to no lower then 14.00v. So its really not very bad.

And I guess my battery is only about 3 years old, maybe 3 and a half.

after not being able to start my truck on a very cold morning this last week, i took my *** to walmart and got one of those ever maxx start batteries(or whatever they are called...the one tommyk90 pimps from time to time) for ~$55 after core. 1000+cca starts my truck like i've never seen it before, my dimming problems have lessened, and i now find myself pimping them.
