battery wiring to amp

if i have a battery under the hood, and add another battery in the back, how the hell do i wire this?

do i just wire front batt + to back batt + and - to - then go from the back battery to the amp?

how the hell is this done?

you can also just ground the rear battery to the frame instead of running a ground wire from battery to battery.

and all this has to be fused within 18 from the Front battery and withing 18 of the back battery right?
