First Real System. Opinons/Advice

Hey Guys, been reading the site for a while now and finally decided to throw down some cash and do a semi-serious system.

Here's what I have in mind:

- Alpine CDA-9884 HU

- Diamond Audio S600s 6" components up front

- Infinity Kappa 682.0cf coaxials in the rear

- A Sundown SAX 100.4 to power the interior speakers

- Two 12" Fi SSD's

- A Sundown SAZ-1500D to power the Fi's

- Finally, an optima red top under the hood for starting on cold New England mornings, and a kinetik HC1400 in the trunk.

The box I've been thinking about making is a 4.3 cu. ft. tuned @ 33Hz. But I've honestly been having trouble figuring out the exact dimensions to build it, so some help on that would be greatly appreciated.

From what I've been reading, I think I've put together a fairly solid list but I'm open to any suggestions you guys might have. Thanks.

Any suggestions on the box. I've been looking at the various calculators available online for the past couple days and I just can't seem to figure it out. Sealed enclosures are easy enough but vented enclosures bring it to a whole different level (for me at least).

Looks good, have you considered saving up for a 9887? It may be a better investment over the 9884.

I'd also get rid of the rear fill, and get the 100.2 instead.

You really think there isn't a need for a rear fill???

What are the advantages/disadvantages to not having speakers in the rear?

there's no point in rears, you sit in the front of that car (im assuming). you have subs in the back, you wont even hear them i promise. Unless you really want to impress back seat passengers, i see no point at all

http://www.carstereo.com has a decent enclosure calculator in the "how to" section. Should get you in the right direction.

All I can say is rashadd I think that's his screename or ask about him does awesome work I saw some pics of his ported boxes in the car audio build log and it looks nothing but quality. I've also heard good things about his work so check into him. Also IDSkot designs and builds boxes for materials plus shipping.

I hope your not buying the Diamonds online if you still want the warranty. But that does look like a hell of a nice system.

NO........ OP may want to go active one day. 4 channel gives you that flexibility. I believe the HU allows for that as well. If not the 100.4 does.
