battery question?

ok i am alittle confused....whenever anyone asks if they would get a second battery u guys always say that it isn;t worth it if u arn;t runnin your system with the car is off...now with people that are running alot of amps and watts such as the vans in USACi and stuff like that have like 30+ batteries...is it just that they need more juice to power all of it or what i am alittle confused

Yes, in most cases from what I've seen. Those batteries are 8v each. The use bus bars to connect them in series for 16v.
