Battery Question

Well I left the lights on and my battery is completely discharged. Im running off a spare.

Is it ok to just connect the discharged battery to the terminals by jumper cables and charge it by leaving the car on??

Can this hurt the alternator (charging a completely discharged battery)

Charge your battery with a charger, just the alternator won't bring it up. It will also shorten the life of your alternator.

Any good charger you can recommend that wont cost much and do the job?

Any trickel charger really, leave on over night, or take it to your local garage and see what they charge to charge it up. I know we don't charge anything here to charge them.
