Battery position in trunk - Upright?

This is going to seem like a pretty silly question, but I've noticed some trunk installs with some Kinetik batteries laying on their side. Isn't it highly suggested to keep the batts upright? If I can lay them down, I could stack them above my gas tank in my Grand Marquis and get lots more room back //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif. They can be mounted in any position because they're a sealed battery. Straight from the user manual - "Sealed Non-Spillable, Mounts In Any Position" http://www.kinetikaudio.com/manuals/khccells.pdf
