ok, so you guys saw the pics of my mags/sundown a couple days ago. well i was going to get them installed this weekend but long story short, it didn't happen.

no shop would do them except one, cruisin concepts. but he was charging 120 for 1/0 guage wiring, which i thought was a little pricey.

anyways

i know im going to need a battery or maybe even an alternator

my stock alt. is 110amps i think...2006 NISSAN MAXIMA

im running the sundown 1500D

will i need to upgrade battery or alternator?

if battery, which would i need.

or would a capacitor work?

thanks!

oh yea

hows this for a box

bandpass ported through armrest cutout

or

seal trunk port and face forward

those were my options //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

another? because if the alt. only gives 110amps how will the second batt. work?

btw im an electrics dummy so stupid questions are inevitable

suggestions on a batt. that will do the trick

one shop offered this stinger p1700? ...costed 350

but i left that shop.

running a 1500D on a 110A alternator will give you dimming..... no matter how many batteries you run.

but, the chances of you drawing full current from the amplifier often enough to drain your battery lower than it's standing 12.8v is unlikely.

if you're ok with 12.8v, and slight dimming, just get the battery.

you wont be going full tilt most of the time, anyways

care to elaborate?
different wires have different strand counts.

two wires, that are exactly the same size, say brand a and brand b

brand a is a fairly solid 10-strand welding cable, and brand b is a 10,000,000 28ga. strand wire (i'm exaggerating, because i've never paid attention to realistic strand counts)

brand b would actually present less voltage drop for the same distance run.

probably not a significant decrease in performance, but to say wire is wire isn't correct.

well in the future im planning to add rainbow SLC components and an amp for those....not sure on what amp though maybe the other sundown.

only way around that is a better alt. right
