Battery Junk?

About 2 months ago I was on my way to work and I ran into the gas station, shut my SUV off and came out and it wouldnt start. Battery was dead. Replaced the battery that night and it has been fine sense.

Yesterday I left my headlights on and drained the battery again. I jumped the SUV with my other car and let it run for 10 minutes and it started up fine 3-4 times right after. About 30 minutes later the SUV wouldnt start and it was resting at 4v on the battery. Jumped it again and drove it around the block. It was sitting at 12.7v when I shut the car off.

In a matter of 1 minute it dropped down to 12.25v. Is this normal or should I chalk this up as a junk battery? If it is junk I can get it replaced under warranty for zilch.

go get the battery tested at a auto store it's free so? and if it's bad get it replaced while there! sounds like your alts good though if everything is good when running but your just on alt power and it's rough on your alt!

Just because its a new battery doesn't mean its a good battery.. DOA or busted cells in new batteries alot lately... Just return it and see if its still doing the same thing... If it is there is more issues than that.. alternator not keeping it charged when running or so forth... bring it somewhere and have them test the battery and alt. at the same time...

Depending on what kinda battery then yea should be under warranty. Just take it back to where u got it.
Got it at Autovalue. I get a company discount there. Got their largest battery that would fit in the OEM spot. I believe it was something like 750CCA and 850AH with a 7 year warranty. Its about 2 months old.

Alts fine. Just went out there and started it up again. Rolled right over. Was sitting at 12.x and on it was at 13.56-13.57v. I tested connections and grounds for open loops to test for a short some where and nothing.

Im aware. It has been fine for 2 months though. As soon as the battery was replaced it has never not started.

You have to have a draw somewhere. Check your cargo lights and shit.
Left it over night. It was resting at 12.05v last night before I went to sleep and was resting at that 8 hours later. Im thinking I may have damaged the battery when I left the headlights on. It has absolutely no audio upgrades. Only after market electrical item on it is the 6K HID's.

replace the battery. it's under warranty. sounds like a cell is bad.
Thats what Im thinking.

i will bet on a short somewhere in the stock wiring that is close to a screw or something. by chance is it a wetcell? could just need new water and ish
Im betting not. Checked for shorts with my DMM. Found the headlight switch in the on position. If there was a short it wouldnt immediately drop to 12.05v and then stay there over night. It would continuously go down.
