Battery Isolator and Wiring

Depending on the amperage of your alt and the amps your amplifiers will be *******. The best and easiest way to go is just get matching batts and replace your facotry with another one. You can even get name brand kinetiks for what the price of some good Stinger isolators cost (130ish). However if you are set on getting an isolator you need to run a wire from alt to isolator and 2 wires from seperate posts to your batts.. thats it.. Hope this helps

Ya.. if yopu have same batetries you dont need an isolator... You just need an isolator if you have a bank of audio batteries then a lead acid factory battery... Then they would need to be charged seperate.. if Your batts are the same you can just run 2 wires from alt to each or just jump from front batt to back batt... you dont need an isolator

It wouldn't be a Bad Idea to have a Battery Relay or Solenoid [same Thing],for *Key-Off Listening*,correct?

At least,he'd only be using the Audio System Battery *With Out* draining Main Battery/:).A battery Relay or Solenoid

as I previously mentioned is *Not Expensive* as you may think/;).Honestly.With a Isolator,IIRC,You have[suppose] to

get one to match your Alternator Amperage, say like 100/125/150/Amp Etc. I personally would get an Relay/Solenoid

and have the best of both.

When it's time to fire up your car, you'll have *Not Drained the Main Battery*.And as,you start your car,the Solenoid opens

up the Contacts[inside] the unit,so your Alternator will charge *Both Batteries*.

I'm doing that w/my Stang Install.I've checked w/people in the Industry over the years, and they have recommended that

to me.Good Luck, which ever way you go w/your Battery choice & charging. It's just *MOPO and what was Recommended

to me*.Take Care

Raymond

**PS**

An Isolator and Solenoid-Relay are two different animals.

They work the same, but, ther Isolator,IIRC,does take a small

drain from the Batteries,or something like that. The others

do not do draw any current at all.

Maybe someone w/more Electronic experience can chime in

to explain the differences in that/:cool:.

Thats alot of useful information i appreciate that. Ill def be checking out the isolator now. The system never gets used with the car off but its better to be safe. thank you
