Nah don't get an isolator. You should be good as long as you don't play your music while the car is off. What amp you running? and how big is your alternator?

Dimming issues

Beef up your grounds and run a ground from the alt bolt and make sure their clean and have good connection it should help. If it's still dimming run a beefy positive wire from the alt to battery in rear with fuse on both ends
