Battery Charger?

Hey, I plan on getting a powermaster D3100 for the back and a D1400 for under the hood, but the back battery won't be used until the end of august or so, so I was wondering what trickle charger should I pick up in order to keep this battery from discharging too low?

Would prefer one from Jegs.com as that's where the batteries are coming from if possible.

Thanks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Well I see that Jegs has some cheap trickle chargers, like $30. But there are different amp ratings, they have 750mA 800mA 1.25A, I don't know which I need. They go up to like 9 amps. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

The lower mA ones are obviously cheaper, but just wondering if I could use a 750mA to charge it since it's such a big battery?

And thanks for the suggestion dumpin, but since it's gonna be about a month and a half I don't wanna be lugging a 90 pound battery back and forth multiple times for a charge, would rather just plug it in a few times a week or whatever is needed.

I'm not gonna be charging the battery from low voltage, just need to keep it floating around 12.xish. So im not gonna be using the battery until late august, so it will just be sitting. I believe even 750mA should keep the voltage floating within a safe range. Since the batt won't be drained, I wont need to be charging it quickly. It's a trickle charger, just meant to keep it from dropping below a safe voltage me thinks.

Maybe I'm wrong? But I think even the 750mA battery tender from Jegs should be fine. Am I wrong?

and AudioXtremes, do you think the battery can sit for over a month without any damage? I'd rather spend $50 on a trickle charger then have to drop another $300 on a battery cause the voltage dropped to like 9v and it won't come back.

you'lll be fine..

are you talking about the d1400?

I've kept a redtop battery in the storage for 4 months and recently installed it without any issues. Resting voltage was at 12.56 and kept up with my d3100 in the back without any issues.

Nah, the D1200 would be put to use as soon as I get it, it's the d3100 that's going to be sitting. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

So, safe?
