Battery and Alternator needs for my system

I am building a system in my 1997 Tahoe 2 dr. I am running a total of (3) Kicker amps. (2) four channel amps, 120 watt per channel and (1) 1500 Watt Class Mono Amp. I was thinking of 2 batteries, one for the sound system only, one for the rest of the truck. Will that work? How much alternator output will I need for stop and go traffic? Truck is loaded with all the typical electrical conveniences.

Get the biggest you can afford. Bigger is better at idle. A 300 plus should keep you in the 14s at idle rpm.

How would you wire the batteries? One of the stereo stuff and one for the car work? Run a charge wire to both batteries? Can the amps be daisy chained on the main power wire?
