Battery & Isolator Question

Umm, I don't pay for food
What is a good battery to go under the hood that isn't at a Kinetik or Optima price. It's to help power my system. So I need one in the front (d34) and possibly one in the back if its cheap enough.

What kind of a battery do you look for in a car audio battery? Deep cycle? I'm not too sure on this one.

Where can you get a isolator for batteries?

Thanks!

If it going under the hood find the biggest D34 battery you can get (CCA and aH wise) Check Interstate - Diehard etc...The "speciality" batteries that are designed for abuse will all be around the same price. If you get a second battery is HAS to be sealed if mounted in the rear (unless you have ventilation for it) the vapor will make you sick.

and PS skip the isolator

Why Skip?

What about the Duralast Gold?

Model: Duralast Gold 34-DLG, 800 CCA, 1000 cranking amps. Idk if it's sealed though.

Thats 40 aH (really 9aH, since its a starting battery)

$70 and 3 year free replacement, 8 year warrenty.

It creates a voltage loss. The only thing it will do is idiot proof the system when you listen the to the radio with the car off for extended time so that your front battery wont be drained. However having the two batteries wired together you will have double the reserve to the whole car.

Optima, SVR and Kinetik are sealed batteries (there are many others out there)- meaning they can be mounted in any position and have no vapors. A "wet" battery is what you normally see under the hood where you can see liquid in the cells.

Ok.

Do you know anything about Duralast Batteries, if they are sealed or not?

If I have a different (sealed) battery in the back from the one in the front, do they need to have anything in common? Or can I use a wet battery in front and a dry in the back?
